Spend Less Time Servicing Parking Meters

The real cost of a meter or kiosk isn’t the hardware — it’s the truck rolls, cash pulls, repairs, rate changes, and time spent finding problems after parkers already have. T2 pay stations cut field work by giving teams fewer devices and more remote control.

  • Fewer devices to deploy, inspect, and service
  • Remote diagnostics and alerts
  • Over-the-air — push rate, setting, and firmware changes without a site visit
  • Durable keypad design with fewer fragile parts than touchscreen-first kiosks
  • Replacement parts ship quickly from USA and Canadian warehouses
  • Faster enforcement reconciliation as pay-by-plate data flows into enforcement, LPR, and reporting

Designed to Reduce Maintenance — Keypad, Not Touchscreen

The display is for showing information. The keypad is for entering it.

A 7-inch color display pairs with a durable, weather-sealed tactile keypad, so plate entry stays fast and accurate with gloves, wet hands, or bright glare.

That separation matters most when something goes wrong. On a touchscreen-first kiosk, a cracked or failed screen could take the whole station offline — which is why operators running them often keep spare units on hand. On a T2 Pay Station, the screen sits behind a replaceable overlay, so damage could mean swapping an inexpensive part, not losing the unit.

Built to Outlast the Alternatives

Where aging meters and touchscreen-first kiosks fail in the field, T2’s rugged, weather-sealed hardware keeps collecting — fewer failure points, fewer truck rolls, and a longer service life.

A multi-space pay station serves several spaces from one curbside or lot kiosk — giving parkers a reliable way to pay and giving operators far fewer devices to manage, monitor, and maintain.

When replacing traditional single-space meters, one pay station commonly covers around a 7:1 ratio. Patrons enter a license plate or space number, pay, and go. Operators cut curbside clutter, reduce maintenance overhead, and gain payment and operational data that legacy meters can’t provide.

Built for Real-World Parking Operations

Reliable Parking Meters for Challenging Climates

Downtime means lost revenue and frustrated parkers. T2 pay stations are engineered and proven to keep collecting through extreme cold, summer heat, salt air, glare, and heavy use.

Thousands of units from 2012 are still in operation today

  • Operating range from -40°F to 140°F (-40°C to 60°C)
  • High humidity tolerance
  • Sunlight-readable display
  • Glove-friendly tactile keypad, informed by direct user feedback
  • Cold-rolled steel with thermal spray coating (TSC) for enhanced corrosion resistance
  • Field-serviceable components for faster repairs

Remove Language Barriers at the Curb

T2 Pay Stations can display up to five languages at once, in Roman or non-Roman characters. Current language options include English, French, Spanish, German, Vietnamese, Simplified Chinese, and Korean.

Security You Can Verify

When a pay station vendor isn’t compliant, the exposure lands on the operator. T2 SecurePay™ runs on a modern Linux platform built to keep it where it belongs, with over-the-air updates that keep compliance current as standards evolve.

  • PCI DSS Level 1 — T2 as a company, at the highest service provider tier
  • PCI P2PE — card data encrypted the moment it’s read and unreadable everywhere after
  • PCI SSF — the payment software standard we’re certified under, which replaced PA-DSS
  • PCI SLC — how our software is built and maintained over time
  • Separate maintenance and collections compartments — servicing a unit never means opening the vault
  • EMV transactions in 10 seconds or less*

Every one of these certifications is listed publicly on the PCI Security Standards Council website — you don’t have to take our word for it.

*An EMV transaction can happen in under 10 seconds with Ethernet-connected units, or under 15 seconds on 4G. This depends on configuration and connectivity.

Support from Planning to Steady-State

Launching or upgrading a pay station program is a project, not just a hardware purchase. T2 supports teams through planning, installation, onboarding, training, integrations, and ongoing operation.

  • Site planning and installation guidance
  • Remote onboarding
  • Staff training
  • Integration support
  • Ongoing software updates
  • United States– and Canada–based support teams, with replacement parts shipping quickly from North American warehouses

Multi-Space Pay Stations: Frequently Asked Questions

Why choose T2 pay stations over other parking pay kiosk providers?

T2 Pay Stations combine durable, field-serviceable hardware with an open platform and flexible payment processing. This helps operators avoid processor lock-in, retain control of their data, and keep equipment running with replacement parts shipped quickly from North American warehouses.

Both models feature tactile keypads designed to perform reliably in demanding environments where touchscreen-first kiosks may struggle. Remote updates for rates, settings, and firmware, and configurations that reduce cash collections also help limit service visits, simplify maintenance, and lower long-term operating demands.

Is a multi-space pay station the same as a parking meter?
Yes — it’s the modern, multi-space version. Instead of one meter per space, a single kiosk handles payment for many spaces at once. Multi-space pay stations can usually replace single-space meters at a 7:1 ratio. That means fewer devices to maintain and more unified payment, reporting, and enforcement data.
What’s the difference between Pay-by-Plate, Pay-by-Space, and Pay-and-Display?
Pay-by-Plate ties payment to a license plate; Pay-by-Space ties it to a numbered space; Pay-and-Display prints a dashboard receipt. T2 supports all three.
Can Pay-by-Plate help reduce piggybacking?
Yes. It connects the paid session to the vehicle, not the space — reducing piggybacking, supporting LPR enforcement, and producing cleaner payment data.
Are T2 pay stations secure?

Yes. T2 SecurePay protects cardholder data through a PCI-P2PE validated solution certified under PCI SSF, reducing PCI scope and simplifying payment-security management.

How is the cash inside a pay station protected?
Maintenance and collections are physically separated, with independent doors and locks. Common tasks like paper changes and cleaning can be done without ever opening the collections compartment.

Lock codes are unique and controlled entirely by you — different codes for maintenance and collections, different codes for different lots or locations, however your operation needs it. Locks and keys of any color or code can only be ordered from T2 directly, and only by authorized personnel.

T2 locks also use a three-key security sequence. Every lock starts on the green key. If that key is lost or compromised, turning the lock with the yellow key alters it so the green key can never be used again. The red key does the same for yellow — giving you two resets before a lock needs to be re-keyed or replaced.

For control and tracking beyond mechanical locks, electronic locks are available as an option.

Can T2 pay stations integrate with my existing parking systems?
Yes. They’re part of the complete T2 solution — enforcement, permits, PARCS, MobilePay, LPR, and reporting — plus 100+ integrations and open API to connect the parking technologies you already use.
Why do T2 pay stations use keypads instead of touchscreens?
Because a tactile keypad keeps Pay-by-Plate entry fast and accurate with gloves, wet hands, or glare — and because it separates input from the display. On a touchscreen-first kiosk, a failed screen could take the whole station out of service. On a T2 Pay Station, the screen sits behind a replaceable overlay, so damage means swapping an inexpensive part rather than losing the unit.
Can existing pay station fleets be upgraded?
T2 can evaluate your current fleet and recommend the right upgrade or refresh path based on model, configuration, age, connectivity, and goals.
