By Matthew Howard, Vice President, Product, T2 Systems
T2 Connect 2025, held from November 17–20 in Indianapolis, is the premier gathering for parking and mobility professionals. The conference unites operators, technologists, and campus and municipal leaders with a shared vision: to create simpler, smarter, and more connected parking solutions.
As someone deeply involved in understanding customer needs and shaping our T2 Systems product roadmap, I believe this is an incredibly dynamic time for our industry. Connect 2025 promises to be our most forward-thinking event yet.
We’ll explore key trends that are shaping parking management, including
- Urban concentration, curb allocation, and campus redevelopment are reducing parking supply and creating a greater need for real-time availability
- Digital transformation across enforcement, permitting, and payment
- Data-driven operations and predictive analytics for utilization
- High consumer expectations for easy, frictionless experiences
- Regulatory pressures around accessibility, privacy, cybersecurity, and sustainability
Operators today are facing mounting pressures and challenges, such as how to
- Simplify operations across fragmented systems
- Deliver seamless experiences to parkers and staff
- Maximize asset utilization and revenue
- Ensure compliance with accessibility, security, and policy standards
- Use real-time data for smarter decision-making
- Do more with less: fewer resources, tighter budgets, and higher expectations.
I’m eager to delve into the 5 innovations that are poised to transform how cities and campuses manage parking and mobility. Here’s a sneak peek:
1. Unified Platforms That Simplify Operations
Operators are asking for fewer silos and more simplicity, and that’s precisely where the T2 ecosystem is headed. At T2 Connect 2025, we’ll showcase the latest updates across T2 Flex®, UNIFI, MobilePay, and license plate recognition (LPR) that make managing permits, enforcement, payments, and reporting feel like one seamless experience. The new open-architecture design allows customers to integrate with third-party systems more easily, automate tasks that used to take hours, and gain a clearer picture of performance in real time.
2. Smarter Enforcement Through Data and Automation
The role of enforcement is evolving from issuing citations to improving safety and community trust. Our breakout sessions will highlight how data-driven enforcement, LPR, and automated workflows are helping cities and universities boost compliance while reducing administrative burden. We’ll share real stories from T2 customers using analytics to identify patterns, redeploy resources, and strengthen community relationships.
3. Mobile-First Payments and Digital Convenience
Consumers expect mobile options for everything they do, and parking is no exception. But there is still a need for traditional payment technologies, such as multi-space kiosks replacing single-space meters, for on-street and off-street environments. We’ll explore how T2’s recent investments and developments in Tempo, Scan & Pay, and T2 Mobile Pay can support dynamic pricing and integrate with campus or citywide mobility apps, creating a seamless, frictionless experience.
4. Connected Data for Smarter Decisions
Parking operations generate valuable insights every day. At T2 Connect, we’ll share how new analytics dashboards and performance tools turn that data into action and reveal trends in occupancy, payment adoption, and enforcement efficiency.
By connecting data across systems, operators can make smarter decisions about staffing, pricing, and long-term planning and communicate those results clearly to stakeholders.
5. Sustainable and Future-Ready Mobility
Sustainability continues to shape the future of parking. EV charging is being integrated with T2 Systems’ parking solutions through partnerships with payment terminal providers such as ID TECH and by incorporating charging management into their broader parking ecosystem. This means drivers can use T2 systems to find and pay for both parking and EV charging in a single, seamless experience, often via a mobile app or at automated payment stations.
T2 has invested in ensuring that its parking services are accessible and easier to use for people with disabilities. Public entities that use T2 Systems’ products as part of their services, programs, or activities must ensure those systems and any related digital content (including PDFs generated by or for users) are accessible by the 2026 deadline.
