Rachel Dillon, T2 Manager, Product SupportMeet Rachel Dillon

Where did you grow up?

I grew up in Delaware (a small state, but the first state).

Who were your role models growing up? And currently?

My role models have always been my mother and father. My mother is determined, caring, and ambitious, while my father is a self-starter, funny, and able to have a conversation with anyone. They taught me to dream big and to care for others, and continue to be a supportive force in my life.

How did you end up in the parking industry, then at T2?

I started my career in the parking industry when I took a role with United Public Safety, a small parking enforcement software and hardware startup. The interactions I had with parking professionals, then, made me feel like a valued part of a very special community. Shortly after that, United Public Safety was acquired by T2 Systems, and I have been working with the amazing team here as the Support Manager of our UPsafety PE solution, since. I’ve now been in the industry for four years, and really enjoy it.

Please provide an example of an achievement or interaction at T2 that is a great example of success in your role.

All the interactions I have with customers who provide us feedback allow me to continually grow professionally and succeed in my role. With this feedback, and as a team, we work diligently together to continually evolve our municipal parking enforcement product into an even better solution that exceeds the needs of every client. It is also great to hear that our efforts are appreciated.

How do you approach continuous learning and professional development within the parking industry?

My motto is there is always something new to learn, especially in the parking world. I am lucky enough to be surrounded by great co-workers and customers who are always willing to share their wealth of knowledge. I love the complexity of the parking industry, and I am consistently learning as technology advances.

What are your hobbies? What do you do for decompression while you’re at work?

I am currently learning kiteboarding, but also enjoy hiking, swimming, and gardening. To decompress at work, I make sure to have a lot of laughs with my T2 team.

What is something most people don’t know about you?

As much as I love animals, birds have always made me feel a little leery. I had too many close and scary encounters with them as a child.
