METRO Magazine has published a full feature on the AI-powered bus lane and bus stop enforcement program developed by the City of West Hollywood and LA Metro, recognized earlier this year with METRO’s 2026 Innovative Solutions Award. T2 Systems, along with Hayden AI and LAZ Parking, supported the initiative as technology and operations partners.
The program pairs Hayden AI’s bus-mounted computer vision cameras with T2 Systems’ Flex parking management platform to detect potential violations in dedicated bus lanes and at bus stops. Trained City of West Hollywood staff review every case before a citation is issued, and LAZ Parking supports day-to-day enforcement operations. The result is a fully integrated workflow that replaces a time-intensive manual process with a streamlined digital one while keeping human judgment at the center of every decision.
According to the feature, the program has cut violation processing time from 10 to 15 minutes down to seconds, delivered clearer bus lanes and stops, improved travel time reliability, and made boarding safer and more accessible for riders with disabilities who depend on unobstructed stops for ramp deployment. The article also highlights the program as a model for cross jurisdictional collaboration, since Metro buses travel through multiple cities along their routes.
