Employee Spotlight: Kat Franchuk

T2 has some of the brightest minds in the parking industry, and each employee brings a unique set of talents and experiences to the table. We thought you might like to learn more about these talented individuals. In our Employee Spotlight series, you’ll get to know one employee each month. This month we talked to Kat Franchuk, Flex Sales Consultant.

Where did you grow up?

It was cold winter’s day… Just kidding, sort of. I was lucky enough to be born in beautiful Vancouver, BC. While I grew up here and enjoyed the rainy Pacific Northwest life, I also spent much of my time in another rainforest, as part of my family is from Costa Rica. I didn’t realize how fortunate I was to be visiting one of the most beautiful countries in the world annually, and I definitely miss that today. I’m hoping to see family soon once this pandemic settles.

How did you end up in the parking industry?

About 7 years ago, a good friend of mine that was working at T2 pushed me to apply and get my foot in the door. I applied as a part-time receptionist for what was, at the time, Digital Payment Technologies during the T2 acquisition. I absolutely LOVED working at the front desk, greeting vendors and clients alike. Shortly after that I joined the Inside Sales team and helped manage our Pay Station accounts for 5 years. From there I briefly went into an Account Manager role overseeing the southeast, and then into my current position as a Flex Sales Consultant for our West Coast clients. So how did I end up here? Much like everyone else, destiny, of course!

What drew you to working in sales?

Sales has always been a draw for me because it combines a few of my favourite things: I’m able to build relationships and network within the industry, while also providing solutions that improve my clients’ operations. It’s a win-win at the end of the day, every time.

What do you do as a Flex Sales Consultant for T2?

I oversee all things sales-related with our existing Flex clients. Anything from moving to virtual permits, a launch of our Residential Permits solution, or larger projects such as deployments of LPR technology. I team up with a brilliant group of Sales Engineers who help ensure that we consult on how Flex and our partner products can assist with streamlining and improving parking operations.

What’s something that you think people don’t know about parking that you find interesting?

Paid parking operations rarely get to keep their own revenue and instead they have to spend it on community improvements. As you can tell, I’m a great +1 for dinner parties!

What do you enjoy about working at T2?

Each team I’ve joined within T2 has been incredibly supportive. T2 is a place where professionals share their knowledge collectively, which only empowers us each individually to support our clients even better. Within each role I’ve had at T2 I’ve felt a learning curve, but there have always been multiple people ready and extremely willing to help me get to where I need.

What’s something most people don’t know about you?

I’m about the height of a Luke II or Luke Cosmo. Picture attached for proof.
